Crazy last three days

Monday -

I clipped Sheik first thing in the morning. My mom did his legs, which we had never clipped before. He was great about it. He didn't like one of the back feet being done at first, but then he was fine. Then I did his whiskers, which he was awesome about. Usually he doesn't like it, because it tickles, but he was really good about it. Then I did his chin and we touched up his bridle path and ears.
I went inside and put everything into the truck and went back out to catch Sheik. We loaded him pretty easily and headed to Pam's.
I unloaded him and put him in a stall with a pen there, and then after a little while I brought him out and gave him a bath. He was pretty awful about it, as always. It took me quite a while though too, because I SCRUBBED every single white spot. He was extremely clean. I let him try and then sprayed show sheen all over him to keep the dust off and put him back in the stall. I came out a little while later and he was rolling. >.< But he stayed clean.
After that my mom left and I ended up banding Sadie's mane. lol, none of us knew how to do it, or had ever done it before, but I ended up doing it. It looked alright, but they wouldn't stay down.
We put Sadie back after putting show sheen all over her and Cash.
After that Vikki left and me, Rendi and Andreya went into the house and started cleaning tack. Boots, saddles, halters and bridles. We used ketchup on the silver. We were really skeptical about it, but Pam told us too, so we did it anyway. It seemed to work. lol, if nothing else it didn't turn it red! XD
Then Vikki came back with pizza, chips and gatorade, and we spent a while eating and just chilling out.
After that we played with their puppies, and then me and Rendi fed all the horses, since it was starting to get dark. We watered everyone and then went inside and finished cleaning the tack, then sprayed tack polish all over them to make them shine.
I had a terrible sunburn, and I was wearing a tank top so a lot of me had burned. It hurt. It still hurts. XD
We had to get the hay in the dark though, because we had forgotten.
Then we came in for the night.
I took a shower, since I had hay all over me and a ton of dirt on my legs and arms. Then we watched tv and finally figured out who was sleeping where, when Pam came home from work and we all ended up eating again. lol. So then we finally did all manage to get some sleep.

Tuesday - Pam woke us up at five am. I changed and ran out to feed Sheik. Pam said she was going to feed him, but wasn't sure how much to give him. So I fed him, with Andreya's help. Just when I'd finished feeding him Vikki showed up with the trailer. Rendi, Andreya and I started loading up all of the stuff into the trailer. Hay, tack, brushes, show clothes, etc. And then once we had everything in, we got the horses. They loaded Cash and Sadie first, in the front of the trailer, and then I loaded Sheik in the back. He'd never been in a stock trailer before, or in fact, any other trailer but ours, but once Rendi shook a little grain for him he went right in. And we all got in the truck and took off....
....just to realize we needed gas. So we stopped at the Love's station, and while they got gas the rest of us ran in. Me and Rendi got gatorade and poptarts for breakfast. Then we finally got back on the road. We met my mom, Hannah and Karen at a different gas station. And Andreya decided she wanted to ride with them so it was just me, Rendi, Vikki and Pam. And we headed on our 'short cut'.
The town where the show is was two hours away. So we should have gotten there at eight. Which would have been great. You HAD to be checked in by eight thirty, and the show started at nine, and we were in the first class.
However, when we realized, at 8:15, and weren't even close to being there, that we were not going to make it in time. So Vikki calls Travis, our extension agent, who was there for some reason. She told him that we were on the way and to check us in our do SOMETHiNG. Which at first I guess, he wasn't real willing, because Vikki was like "Travis, I have been up since four am, there are three horses in the trailer, and they are jumping aroundevery time there is a semi truck, I have to go to the bathroom - DO NOT MESS WITH ME."
And surprise....he checked us in!
XD
So anyway, we finally made it to the town, and saw signs for the arena, which brought on a lot of cheering and clapping. We finally got there at NINE. We were in the third class. So Rendi and I ran to get changed into our show outfits and our mom's got the horse's out and started grooming them.
And we did amazingly, make it in time. Barely.
I was last in the ring, and Sheik was pretty good...he wouldn't set up at the beginning, but he trotted, and he was pretty good standing still...He would have been better, but Cash, Rendi's horse was pretty upset and he'd move, and so would Sheik. He did stand for the judge though.
And we placed sixth out of eighth. Which is pretty good. And we qualifed for state, which is in two weeks.

Then between halter and showmanship I had an hour or so. So I put baby powder all over Sheik's white spots. it worked best on his nose, it took his dirty sunburned nose and made it white. <333
This one kid's Dad came over and asked me how old Sheik was, then guessed three, and I said yes he was, and he said that his kid's horse was three too. And then said that Sheik still had a lot of growing and filling out to do, like his kid's horse. Then the kid brought his horse over near Sheik because he wanted to see how much taller Sheik was. About three or four inches. XD As he was leading his over I was like "I think my horse is going to be taller." XD
Then the Dad saw Sheik had two glass eyes and said that that was pretty rare, and asked if he had any trouble seeing, which he doesn't. But I know that is a fairly common problem in horse's with two glass eyes like that. Glass eyes is another word for blue.

Showmanship...went well...he wasn't great, and didn't pivot of course, but I expected that. he stood nicely though. We got last though, because of course everyone else was really good, because they had their really exprienced horses, and they've probably been showing since they were five.

Despite that, we still qualifed for state in that class too.

After that, I put his normal halter on him, and loaded him back up in the trailer with hay and water and came back in to check on him after every few classes. He was an extemely good sport about it.

We went to watch Rendi do trail, which went okay. For one thing Cash is huge. Which doesn't help in trail. They almost got the gate, and the box, they stood no chance, he couldn't do it even if he wanted too. The bridge freaked him out too, but he did alright otherwise.

Then we watched Andreya do WP. [western pleasure] She did pretty well. Sadie was REALLY loping though. I mean ears back, flying. And Andreya had to hold onto the horn. At another point Sadie decided she was done, and headed for the gate, but Andreya did good with her.

Then Rendi's WP class was next. She was doing really well Cash, until they started loping. Her hat fell off, but she manage to catch it. She was riding two handed though, so she's loping with her hat in one hand, trying to hold onto the reins. Then Cash has like, a freak out, and she loses a stirrup. She got it back though, came past where we were sitting and tossed the hat up towards us, and we almost got it, but it hit the rail and bounced back down. And then she was disqualifed because your hat is not allowed to touch the ground.

She skipped out on horsemanship. We watched it though, and it was extremely hard.
Then we unloaded Sheik and loaded Cash and Sadie in the front. Sheik did not want to load up again, and it took us several tries, but we finally got him to go in.

And we headed back out on the road, after stopping for ice cream. We took the normal route home, much faster. We were almost back to Rendi's when the tack room door thing on the trailer opened. Rendi climbed through the truck window and into the back of the truck and shut it. Then we finally got back to Rendi's. We unloaded the horses and put them back, inculding Sheik. And then moved everything back into our own trucks. Then my mom got there and we were going to hitch up the trailer and take Sheik home, but after how hard it was to get him in after the show, I was pretty much sure he wouldn't do it, and Pam said it would be no big deal to leave him there another night. So we did.

Today -
We had to wait for fedx to come, and then we went back to Rendi's to get Sheik. Jacob helped us back up the truck to the trailer and he and mom hitched the trailer up, and then we loaded Sheik, who knew he was going home and was more then ready to do so. He went right in. When we got home I unloaded him and he was heading for the gate, with or without me. I let him out in the pasture and he went trotting down the hill to find Easter.
Then tonight I groomed him and worked on pivots a little.

We also spent a while talking about show outfits. I want to get a pair of brown show pants, I think it'll look a lot better with my shirt and hat and everything. I feel like my jeans are cheapening my outfit a ton, and I think the show pants will help a lot.

I also got him a sleezy today. =] I got it on ebay for twenty dollars, which is really good. This way I can band his mane and it'll lay flat. it will also keep his neck and face cleaner. It's hunter green. =D I also want to get him a hunter green halter and lead one of these days, just for shows and going nice places. His halter isn't in great shape anyway.
